“Contemporary Realism is at the heart of my work, featuring portraiture and the figure as primary subject matter. With my first love being charcoal, a continuous evolution of technique and style has brought secondary abstract design elements like colorful pastels, papers, and paint to the finished product, establishing a unique identity for my body of work. As a woman, my experiences have profoundly informed my artistic process, especially within a system of traditional categories and cultural bias. I’m driven to engage with my viewers in a conversation on the meaning of identity and what it means to be seen. Each series I create is rooted in themes of representation, often using symbolic natural elements to further explore the narrative. Making space for all in relatable and meaningful connection is forever my goal.”
