I earned a BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in painting and photography from the University of Georgia. With a love for travel, I continued my studies with a semester abroad at Florence University of the Arts and University of Georgia Study Abroad program in Costa Rica. After college, I spent two years in New York City working as a photography assistant. I returned south and have been painting and teaching art ever since.
My work is influenced by my background in photography and is inspired by a love of nature, color and travel. Florals, landscapes and children portraits are the main subjects for my paintings. My work is best known for the use of the palette knife to create a signature style of loose, textured strokes with soothing colors. My hope is that my paintings capture the beauty in the everyday, evoking a memory or feeling and creating moments of peace and wonder with each stroke.
