Artist Statement

I am a photographer and fiber artist. I shoot in digital and analog, but there is something about the nostalgic, organic feel of film. Instant film, which I favor, has a mind of its own and I have grown to enjoy that mystery. My love of things old and forgotten is often reflected in the things I photograph. As a fiber artist I create abstract tapestries using a mix of techniques and I crochet wearable art. I am always looking for ways to incorporate recycled and natural materials into my work. Working with fiber and film puts me in touch with history. It reminds me of slower times when people worked with fewer machines and digital tools.
