Monica Iversen is an emerging artist in the Upstate of SC. For a little over a year now, she has been calling this area her home and is doing what she loves best which is creating her art full time. She comes from a line of talented artists, yet is the first to start displaying her work publicly. Prior to that, she accepted commissions by word of mouth.
Monica is a Classical Realist trained in the methods of the Old Masters. She paints a wide variety of subject matter, but enjoys the challenges that come along with painting people and animals the most. She prefers the Flemish method of oil painting using maroger medium and ground pigments.
Monica's work is part of both private & business collections, as well as murals which can be found primarily in the Northeast. In addition, she teaches private and group art lessons, including Plein Air.
