I am a wearable fiber artist who makes contemporary handbags, inspired by nature, architecture and mid-century modern design. My bags are made from upholstery fabric atop sturdy interlinings, accounting for their structural, stand alone nature. I cut and work cowhide leathers of varying thickness, stitching them into intriguing handle shapes and backdrops for a variety of accents. From acid-etched metal plates to vintage findings, the pizzazz of each bag varies greatly and is often inspired by the fabric itself. With regard to craftsmanship, I consider myself as much a builder as an artist. My bags feature high-end hardware, influencing both their functionality and their fabrication process. Having grown up in the Virginia Blue Ridge, I moved to Charleston in 2005, where a vibrant art scene and an entrepreneurial spirit gave birth to Add Libb, wearable art handbags. I relocated to Greenville in 2019 and am very happy to be a part of yet another thriving artist community!
