This gift was the cultivation of love for all the myriad wonders of the natural world. Time spent immersed in the outdoors sparked a passion for observation that, combined with my curiosity and determination, set me upon my artistic journey at a young age. Whether in school or at home, I found ways to spend as much time making art as possible.
I grew my skills with 5 years of atelier style study in classical realism at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, MD. Focusing on the techniques of the Old Masters, I studied drawing, sculpture, watercolor, oils, and anatomy. I promptly realized my attraction to the mercurial nature of watercolor. The in-depth instruction at Schuler provided me the freedom to pursue a variety of projects, including many outside the realms of classical art.
Now living in Greenville, SC my work has evolved as a representation of my passions. Moving beyond my training, it has become larger, more vibrant and more detailed as I intentionally push my own boundaries.I have expanded my knowledge of the natural world through gardening, research and fostering community relationships.
