I feel that God has given us an abundance of beauty on our earth and my art is a response to the bountiful and complex visual inspiration all around us. My work primarily focuses on visual interest created by color and texture. I try to capture and hold the viewer’s attention by creating something that has merit in its own right. By this I mean that there is not a large emphasis on symbolism or hidden meaning in my work. Hopefully the work speaks for itself. My principal media are oil and acrylic painting on canvas but I also enjoy making pottery. Each of these processes satisfy a different part of my creative interest. Painting speaks to my joy in color and how it defines form. Ceramics captures my tactile interests as well as three dimensional qualities not normally obtainable in painting.
