I don’t paint what I see, I paint what I don’t see.
The life of my work involves it’s texture and it’s color, something I learned from one of my mentors, an accomplished portrait artist who convinced me that there is a point on the painter’s canvas where the eye focuses and begins it’s travels so that you follow it’s path upwards and elsewhere until it returns to the beginning, it’s starting point, until you have seen all which the painting has to offer."
I don’t paint what I see, I paint what I don’t see. What I see is so very boring. I rather you feel the in between spaces of my closed eyes. Maybe bringing to light the unnoticed things in yours.
