I am a contemporary painter in the tradition of The New York School of Abstract Expressionism experiencing that all subject matter is found within oneself and through that exploration one can find a new way of painting, a new language, an original expression.
I was a principal dancer with the Erick Hawkins Dance Co. in NYC in the 80's and 90's and was fortunate to work directly with artists Robert Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, and Isamu Noguchi as they designed sets and costumes for the works I performed in. When my dance career came to and end I began the transition of my creative expression from movement to painting. It has been said of my work that my inner world is on display with a radical immediacy that one experiences at the dance. I am simply attempting to reveal experiences and emotions for which we have no words yet, if ever at all,
for language is my second language.
