Mission Statement

CBT’s current mission is to engage, entertain, and educate its audience through the dynamic medium of dance. CBT works to provide Greenville with resident professional dancers who are dedicated to creating rich educational opportunities in dance for all segments of its Upstate audience.

About

CBT, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serves as Greenville's Resident Professional Dance Company for The Peace Center, founded in 1972.

Over the past 45 years, CBT has enchanted audiences with their diverse repertoire, which spans from cherished 19th-century classics to contemporary show-stoppers. CBT has become a significant contributor to Greenville's vibrant arts culture through the generous support of donors, sponsors and patrons. CBT is committed to allowing all to experience the joy and magic of live dance regardless of financial or socioeconomic barriers. Included in CBT's Seasonal lineup - 3 professional shows at The Peace Center and Gunter Theatre plus a variety of ground-breaking community initiative shows.

The professional performances are comprised of CBT Company Members, along with a dozen contracted professional company artists and a Corps de Ballet that includes up to 15 trainees. At the helm of artistic direction, sits the creative and ever-evolving, Hernan Justo. His direction as a visionary, along with the dedication of an active Board of Directors and volunteers, continues to provide The Upstate with unmatched professional performances, diverse arts integration and quality educational programs.
