There is nothing more meaningful for me, than my time spent in creating art. With so much beauty in our colorful world, I'm never at a loss for inspiration - just loss of light. My focus has been to capture the subtle magic of color and light in landscapes and seascapes and the vibrancy of abstract expression of life’s joy.
I sign my work under my maiden name of A Brandt to identify my legacy with my love of art.
Born in Hilo, Hawaii, I have always been surrounded by nature and color. My DNA makeup is 2 parts adventure and 1 part risk, 4 Tablespoons of logical planning, and a cup of enthusiasm with a sprinkling of fear. The trouble was always folding in the sustained joy of the project. Everything I came up with as a child, quickly lost its glamor when you had to bake it at a hardwork temperature. I had to find something that would light my passion and never fail to excite me no matter how hard I had to work. It was painting.
My family moved to Southern California when she was 12, and I was blessed to grow up in a beautiful area of California; Fallbrook, the Avocado Capital of the World.
After college studies and raising children of my own, I stepped out of my comfort zone and began studying painting from great artists such as; Bob Burridge, Scott Christensen, Libby Tolley, Dreama and John Budicin. Wow! Now that’s how to really understand how to paint. Learn from the best. What and education. From then on, the improvements in style and composition kept coming with practice. And once again, I wiggled out of my redefined comfort zone to venture into acrylic art after 20+ years as a landscape oil painter.
My work has been displayed in the COAL Gallery, Carlsbad, and the Brandon Gallery, Fallbrook, California. My landscape and contemporary pieces have benefited charitable organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, American Heart Association, andthe Monarch Butterfly Festival. In Greenville, one of my abstract pieces had just been selected to show in the February 2025 exhibit in the Trails Gallery
I moved to South Carolina in 2023 to be closer to family and enjoy painting the natural world in four seasons of color. ABrandt Art can now be found on Facebook and Etsy sites. In addition, My paintings of past years are now printed as notecards and can be found on Etsy as well as local retail shops.
