As a visual artist, Adam takes inspiration from the natural world. Humanity has a long history of expressing itself through observation of the plants and animals around them; they become the heroes and villains in mythology and parables. His work follows in that tradition, similar to the bestarium vocabularum, by recreating figures and moments from nature in a fantastical style. The bright colors, simplified forms, and dynamic postures alienate the viewer from the reality of the subject, creating an ambiguity in the narrative of the work. He believes this ambiguity, inherent in nature, allows space for the viewer to apply individual interpretations to the piece.
