About the teaching artist:
Monica Iversen's artistic journey began in the surroundings of her father's NY studio, where she first learned the techniques of classic realism. Inspired by the works of the Dutch Masters, Monica's oil paintings are vibrant expressions of color and intricate storytelling. Her work evokes a sense of nostalgia, intertwined with complex narratives. Admirers often liken her work to a collaboration between Norman Rockwell and Salvador Dali, where the familiar meets the surreal. Her art can be seen in museums and at prestigious exhibits across the North and Southeastern United States.
About Iversen’s current show at Good Art Co.:
“Reflections: a Solo Exhibition of new work by Monica Iversen” at Good Art Co. invites people of all ages to explore memories, rekindle childlike joy, and smile their way through timeless stories brought to life through hyper-realistic paintings. Iversen invites viewers into a world where memory, emotion, and storytelling converge through the lens of childhood. Featuring a collection of oil paintings that spotlight vintage toys and children—primarily from the 1960s and earlier—this exhibition draws on the universal language of nostalgia to spark both joy and introspection.
