By working from observation, students will master both technical and conceptual aspects of painting. Color theory and color mixing will be discussed and explained. The goal is to teach students to create a realistic image through mastering color and tonal relationships. Class will start working from a still life set up that will be first done in a monochromatic palette. This will help students understand how to control tonal values with paint. Class will then transition to limited four color Zorn Palette. The final step class will start working in warm-cool color palette. Old Master copying is also often used in conjunction with other assignments.
Instructor's note: Highly Recommend taking the drawing fundamentals class before or along with this painting fundamental class as the drawing fundamentals class will greatly benefit with understanding painting.
This class will have 8 sessions, first session will start 3rd of April 2024. Classes will be on Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm.
Minimum age requirement is 15 to attend this class.
Class is limited to 15 students. Book early to reserve a spot.
