Details

Acrylic paint is a fast-drying water-based media. The material can be diluted with water and modified with acrylic gels, mediums, or pastes, resembling watercolor, gouache, or oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics. The fast dry nature of the material allows artists to paint in layers quickly and build up the surface lending to more versatility, immediacy, and surface texture.

Students will begin painting traditional subjects such as still life, seascape, and landscape, providing a solid understanding of composition, color, technique, and scope of vision and then will complete a finished project of their choice ending with a group critique.

Perfect for a range of skill levels from an experienced professional who wants to get acquainted with acrylic and hone in on their painting skills to beginners wanting to explore acrylic for the first time, this course will provide the structure you need to get a deeper understanding of acrylic and apply the materials to your own studio process and voice.
