Alan Shuptrine, a nationally renowned American watercolor artist and master craftsman, is known for his detailed paintings and has emerged as a leading practitioner in several artistic disciplines. Among them are: watercolor, the centuries-old art of water gilding, wood carving, sgrafitto, and antique restorations. Sought for his mastery in designing and creating one-of-a-kind gold leaf art frames, he is equally known for his mastery in realistic drybrush watercolors. Shuptrine’s work, like that of his father (Hubert Shuptrine 1936-2006) is collected by our nation’s museums, galleries, private art collectors and corporate collections.
