This class is in the American method of batik, and is a very basic course for someone who is unfamiliar with the technique. You’ll make 2 small batiks. Learn how to use cold water dyes, choose fabrics suitable for batik, and where to find supplies. This class will be held in 4 sessions over 3 days. Due to the nature of batik, it won’t be possible to do in one day. There’s a lot of waiting for things to dye properly and to dry between processes. Please be flexible as far as time is concerned. It could go faster than anticipated or take longer. Some dye colors take longer than others, and some of your designs will take longer to wax.
