Come indulge your treasure hoarding, memento keeping self at this altered tin workshop led by local artist Virginia Russo. We will start with an empty mint tin and a table full of ephemera, found objects, papers, trims, bits of nature, and just plain junk. From there we will talk about the impulse across time and culture to collect and assemble shrines, trinket boxes, and curiosity cabinets. We will discover our own visual language, play with combinations, and finally every participant will leave with their own unique piece of altered tin art.
