While design, materials and space thrill me, I am less concerned with the idea of a painting. I am fascinated with the creation, experimentation and journey of lines and white space. I constantly experiment with surfaces, mediums, color and texture. My work is mostly contemporary and I often maintain a neutral palette, even with the introduction of color. The abstract and geometric paintings of the 50’s strongly influence me, however the color palette of today’s current trends find their way to each piece. When I have the opportunity to travel – either close to home or further away I take hundreds of photos. The surroundings and memories of those places inspire my work. My photographs are most often the starting place, however my work always remains abstracted.
