I am a watercolor artist drawn to the relationship between nature and the natural behavior of watercolor. My work begins with simple forms inspired by stones, leaves, botanicals, and other organic shapes, but my primary interest is observing how water, pigment, and paper interact. I am fascinated by the movement of paint, the settling of pigment, and the unexpected patterns that emerge when natural processes are allowed to unfold.
Much of my work explores what happens when I let go of the need to control every outcome and allow the painting process to become part of the discovery. Rather than trying to control every aspect of a painting, I often allow water, pigment, and gravity to influence the outcome. Letting go of control and responding to what emerges keeps me curious and engaged in the process, eager to see what happens next. What emerges is often different from what I imagined, and that sense of discovery is what keeps me returning to the work.

My work is also part of a larger interest in developing a mindful art practice; one that values curiosity, attention, and the experience of painting itself. Through both my artwork and teaching, I enjoy sharing approaches that encourage others to slow down, explore, and discover their own creative path.
