Erika DeRoberts is a contemporary painter based in the Upstate of South Carolina whose work explores light, place, and meaningful human connection. Her current bodies of work—Momentum of Light, Spirit of Light, and Gathered by Light—move between abstract and representational language, drawing inspiration from nature, travel, shared tables, and contemplative spaces. Through layered color, thoughtful composition, and an intuitive yet disciplined process, her paintings invite viewers to slow down, notice, and experience a sense of presence.

Working primarily in acrylic and oil, Erika has studied under artists including Phil Garrett and Christine Swann. She has maintained a studio at Good Art Co since Fall 2023, where she continues to develop her evolving body of work and engage with the local arts community.
In addition to her studio practice, Erika has completed numerous public and private commissions. Her large-scale murals can be seen at Condado Tacos, Stax Omega, Voodoo Brewing Co., and First Presbyterian Church. She has also painted two interactive public pianos for Please Play Me Pianos, located at the Greenville Spartanburg International Airport and at Steam Coffee & Cream.

Erika’s work has been featured in gallery exhibitions, community art initiatives, and Metropolitan Arts Council Open Studios, and is held in private collections. Across both fine-art and public-facing projects, she is committed to creating work that fosters beauty, connection, and a deeper sense of place.
