Hetty the Piano Unveiling

August 1 @ 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
a painted piano with a stool

Please Play Me Pianos and Artist Erika DeRoberts will unveil Hetty the Public Piano in Fountain Inn on Friday, August 1, 2025. The BIG REVEAL will take place during the 7:30 p.m. intermission of the Sounds of Summer Concert in Commerce Park. Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. if you want to enjoy the free live music and festivities!
Erika donated her own family piano and has painted it in the theme of Aunt Het’s Cottage! It exudes small-town Southern charm with every last note! Aunt Het is a fictional character created by journalist Robert Quillen in the early 1900s. She was renowned for her quips and witticisms as she observed the goings-on in Fountain Inn, and Hetty the Piano pays tribute to this matriarch who helped shape a generation.
After the unveiling, the piano will permanently reside in the beautiful breezeway outside Steam Coffee & Cream at 113 S. Main Street in Fountain Inn. Owners Erica and Chris Williams can’t want to hear the music created by locals and tourists, and the former happens to be a talented pianist herself!
