An Evening of Iconography in Color and Sound

Did you know that there is a major church mural project underway here in Greenville? In the ancient tradition of Christian iconography, artist-in-residence Seraphim O’Keefe has been working for the last five years on a project that will continue for years to come. St. John of the Ladder Orthodox Church hosts occasional events for the public to see the work progress. Seraphim will give a tour, with time between sections to study the murals, while the choir sings selections from their a cappella tradition of hymnography. The songs bring out the meaning of the images as you observe. This event will be followed by light refreshments and a Q&A with the artist. Free and open to the public.
