ACTIVATE: An Invitation to Making is a unique conference designed to bridge the gap between the intellectual and the practical—between ideas about making and the lived reality of creative work.
The event seeks to encourage artists, makers, and creatives of all kinds to integrate their craft more intentionally into their daily lives and their communities.
This year’s keynote speakers—philosopher Esther Lightcap Meek and singer-songwriter Andy Squyres—will guide attendees in exploring what it means to respond to the call to create. Their teaching will anchor a conference experience built around participation, reflection, and imagination.
Unlike traditional conferences, ACTIVATE emphasizes small-group sessions led by local artist-presenters. These focused, hands-on gatherings will help participants apply what they learn, experiment with new ideas, and envision what their work might become in service to their neighborhoods, churches, and cities.
