For me, the physical act of forging steel with fire, anvil and hammer is a passion. I love the challenge of manipulating the hot steel to create art. When I work on a piece, it usually starts as a chalk drawing on the floor or table. After heating the metal, I shape each piece to match the drawing. Once I have all the components forged, I compose the structure by welding or riveting all the parts together. I like the natural look of steel. My current work is small steel sculpture. I want the viewer to explore and enjoy each piece in the hand.
