My artwork is developed through research and studio experimentation. I approach my work through process using a call and response method. I am always looking for new materials and processes that hold the potential to further my personal understanding of the source of my creative desires and the meaning of what is created.
I make marks, smudges, stains, and rough shapes on muslin or paper using an array of materials including dye, oil paint, acrylic, charcoal, wax and ink. My current work is either matted and framed or mounted directly on the wall.
Every living thing leaves evidence of its existence. My artwork is an important part of what I will ultimately leave as evidence of my life. This attitude creates a platform for interaction, interpretation and communication.
