As a photographer with a background in painting, I am attracted to non-traditional beauty. I create lyrical narratives from the everyday -- randomly placed objects seem purposeful, bent frames become graceful, inorganic forms disclose life-like characteristics. My color photographs are like small meditations, granting permission to pause, and creating space for contemplation. Forgotten items and ordinary spaces possess a kind of wilted beauty that alternately suggest playfulness, tranquility, melancholy, and desire.

Directions

My studio is located in the Roe Art Building at Furman University. From downtown Greenville, take Poinsett Highway (US 276W) towards Travelers Rest. Take the Furman University exit. At the front gate, bear right onto the traffic circle, then take a right onto Carl Kohrt Drive. The Roe Art Building (and parking lot) is accessible by taking the first left off of Kohrt Drive.
