I do pen & ink drawings and watercolors to create a lasting impression of a place and a time. These creations also serve as my legacy to the world and I so want to impact each person who views the drawing or painting. Often, I create a drawing for special occasions like a drawing of the church for a wedding gift or a painting of a teddy bear for a newborn great nephew.
For the most part, I deal with landscapes with an emphasis on historical structures or landmarks and occasionally, I’ll do a still life. These creations might range from a drawing of Bodie Lighthouse on the Outer Banks to an eclectic restaurant in Oxford, MS called Taylor Gocery, and the Southport Trinity Methodist Church in Southport, NC. I have also captured local landmarks like Mary’s Cottage and the Wyche Pavillion in Greenville, and the Bell Tower in Simpsonville.
In 2010, I published a book of my annual Christmas card drawings, Christmas Memories Through The Years. This book is a compilation fifteen years of pen and ink Christmas cards which I sent out of family and friends.
