My artistic journey unfolded at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, FL, where I immersed myself in diverse mediums, with a primary focus on photography—a passion I had been cultivating since the age of 15. As a Fellowship Student turned Studio Artist, I honed my skills and explored the mysterious world of black-and-white, Infrared film photography.
The ethereal effects of my landscape images, printed on silver gelatin paper and hand-colored with Marshall Oils and pencils, became a signature element of my work. However, the discontinuation of my favorite IR film prompted a shift to digital IR. The fruitless search for a suitable ink-jet paper led me to the realization that what really interested me was painting. This epiphany resulted in a journey of experimentation in painting and drawing classes, where I continued to explore various styles and subjects.
Having showcased my photography and paintings in numerous venues across the United States, including exhibitions at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, FL, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Orlando Museum of Art, my artistic odyssey recently brought me to Greenville. As a relative newcomer to this vibrant community, I am finding my place and beginning to share my creations locally. Notably, my painting was selected for inclusion in "Artists of the Upstate" at Artisphere, marking an exciting chapter in my ongoing artistic narrative.
My work is a fusion of the technical precision developed through years of photography and the boundless creativity unleashed through the world of painting. Through each stroke of the brush or click of the shutter, I aim to capture the essence of the world around me and invite viewers to embark on their own visual journey.
