In my work, I utilize linocut printmaking techniques, and occasionally watercolor, to create pieces that reflect an appreciation for the natural world and the quiet character of everyday life. My goal is to capture the vibrancy and joy of small moments through high contrast depictions of pattern, line, and shape. The act of carving the linoleum block and pulling each print is deeply mediative. In a world that is always busy, it forces the printmaker to slow down and reconnect. My work is printed by hand, often using a simple wooden spoon or a small press to transfer the image; the process of printmaking itself emphasizes an intimate connection with each piece, which I hope encourages my viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the world around them.
