Artist Statement
My artwork grows from a number of impulses. Since childhood, I have enjoyed making things; sock puppets, Popsicle stick trays, lanyards, and drawings in the dirt. You name it. So here I am several years later, and I still like to make things. The process of making art provides an opportunity for me to see what I really think and feel, and to ask what is important. Through my artwork I have been able to explore my reactions to the land, to people that I care about, and to events that shape the world we live in. Making art also serves to motivate me to learn about new materials, technologies and ideas. Many of my recent works include elements of painting, sculpture and furniture design.
