My art begins with observing the surrounding beauty of nature. There is always something to see when you are outside, from the leaves in the trees to the snail shells on the ground. In painting or illustrating the natural world, I try to tell myself not to paint them just how I see them, but to paint them how I want them to be. This often means exploring different colors and textures or combining various elements into one work of art. I primarily work in acrylics, but enjoy digital art and illustration as well as charcoals for portrait work.
