Artist Statement

I work both representationally and abstractly to create work inspired both by natural and man-made design and structure. Fascinated by patterns and the relationship between line and shape, I explore ways to create texture and add rhythm in a composition. I am enthusiastic about fiber as an artist medium because of it is open to many forms of manipulation to create both visual and tactile textures in the design; and I honor my heritage by utilizing fiber and quilting techniques in my art.
