Artist Statement

I am a contemporary oil painter working in both experimental and representational themes. I frequently work in an oil and cold wax medium lending itself to a freer form of art, focusing on, form, color, line, texture, markings, and movement. When I work in traditional oils, I desire to maintain a loose brushstroke, creating soft edges, harmonious color, simplicity, and a painterly style. I continue to explore representational compositions bridging the gap of traditional oils and abstract art.

I enjoy the experimentation and the “accidents” that occur and what they can add to the completed composition. I paint for the love of art and learning, and have fun in the process.
