Artist Statement

For 22 years I traveled throughout Europe, painting in various locations, marketplaces, & on the streets. The landscapes of Italy were singularly inspiring, & I’ve painted hundreds of wall murals.
The ideas for my paintings come naturally, one could say, they are received; that is, I don’t work up imagining a piece of art. Usually inspirations come in a sanctuary, or a time of prayer , a space that is invigorating. I feel that an artist ought to remain true to her vision; that is, not to make contrived or sappy art just for a sale.
I like to quote G. MacDonald, “A genuine work of art must mean many things. The truer it’s art, the more things it will mean.”
