Artist Statement

I respond to the natural elements around me, at home in SC or in my travels far and near. Nature expresses herself through forms, pattern, shape, color and texture. These elements are incorporated in my work, then color. which is very important to help create unity and vitality to the often times highly textured surface. Symbols, marks, small twigs, sliced geodes, are used sometimes in the works to express significance meaning.
