I am an abstract painter. The visual ingredients I see in my day-to-day life feed a studio practice that celebrates paint as paint. My work is an extension and renewal of American lyrical abstraction and color field painting and is informed by time spent working with late modern masters. I flatten forms to accentuate color, and I compose with hard edges to exaggerate visual rhythm. I aim to make paintings that hit your heart through your eye before your mind gets involved.
