Wonderings
The paintings chosen for my first show at Spoonbill Gallery represent different stages of my creative life - a mini-retrospective, if you will. From earlier landscapes to geometric minimalism and color explorations I love having these works together as a testament to my evolution as an artist.
The common threads of pattern, color, geometry and spatial curiosity resonate throughout the ten-year span represented here. They remind me of how I am constantly looking and interpreting so much of what goes on around me and also within. I yearn for balance and light, and a perspective, even when quiet, that invites visually and viscerally.
While only two paintings in the show have a direct correlation with an actual place, every painting here is created from my many years of observation and experience in this amazing and often chaotic world.
