{Tom Wright is a saxophonist, composer, author, and mathematician who lives in Spartanburg, SC. Tom is the director of the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble, the house composer for the Greenville Jazz Collective Big Band and the Ol’ 74 Big Band, the leader of Tom Wright’s Cat and Mouse Quartet, and a professor of mathematics at Wofford College. Tom has performed widely; he has played his saxophone on all seven continents, and he has shared the stage with everyone from Wynton Marsalis to Regis Philbin to Miss America.

Tom originally formed Cat and Mouse in 2012 as a bass and saxophone duo; it has since been recast as a quartet with pianist Phillip Howe, bassist Robert Nance, and drummer Kevin Korschgen. The relentlessly creative quartet plays a high-energy style of jazz that is both artistic and fun, drawing inspiration from across the jazz and popular music worlds. Cat and Mouse released their first album, Notes from the Journey, in 2019; it has since received airplay on radio stations all over the world.}
