The work of Phillip Livingston (Greenville, S.C.) ushers the transition from summer to fall in the Art & Light gallery partnership with The Anchorage restaurant in the Village of West Greenville. Philip Livingston studied art at the University of South Alabama where he received a BFA in Graphic Design and Painting. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, he spent 20+ years creating ad campaigns and graphic design for national brands at ad agencies in Boston, MA and Washington DC.

In the recent work on view at The Anchorage, Livingston presents sculptural relief work that began as an experimental series. In this series he hones in on the geometric, typographic and industrial themes that are central to his paintings. Livingston’s work is an expression of the raw aesthetic of urban decay. It explores the interaction of geometric shapes, fragments of letterforms, flow of energy and creating order from chaos.

Phillip Livingston’s Anchorage exhibition will be released through Art & Light gallery on October 8 and will conclude on January 6, 2025. The exhibit is also on view during regular dining hours at The Anchorage. Join Phillip for a ticketed artist meet and greet and artist talk on Thursday, November 21 from 5:00-6:30 PM (EST) to learn more about the artist and the inspiration behind his new collection. During the event, a signature cocktail will be served along with small bites, making for the perfect culmination of fine art and fine food.
