Sinkhole, SC is a new solo
exhibition by Joseph Smolin at Good Art Co. The show approaches sinkholes both
as literal collapses in the earth and as a metaphor for communal and
psychological catastrophe. Through paintings, sculpture, and experimental
film, Sinkhole presents a deeply personal look at how
communities in Southern towns and cities increasingly suffer from
gentrification, displacement, and climate disaster. Images of melting cities
and immanent angels abound, all with an eye toward an absurdist view of the
apocalypse. Cheers to the end!
