Kara Virginia Russo's work focuses on inner mystical fantasy worlds, and indulge the artist's love of symbols and stories. Setting:Sun focuses on her mixed media works on paper, which utilize watercolor, ink, drawing, collage, and embroidery. Her series of notebook page works have the feel of strange explorers notes, or unfamiliar religious texts, while her larger works explore color and shape in maximalist compositions.
The opening reception will also feature live music from James Nichols and Mario Russo, at 7pm and 8pm respectively.
The work will be available to view by appointment the week following the reception.
