“A collaboration between the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and the South Carolina Children’s Theatre (SCCT), Once Upon an Orchestra is a free performance that engages young listeners and their attending family members with a dramatic blend of classical music, narration, acting and movement. Masks are required for 2 and up.

Classical music is paired with a storybook and brought to life in costume by SCCT Principal Teaching Artist, Traysie Amick. She performs alongside the GSO’s wind quintet, string quintet, and solo percussion. At the end of the program children are invited “on stage” with Miss Traysie and the GSO musicians to take turns sharing their stories.

Once Upon an Orchestra is held on three selected Tuesdays each spring at the new SCCT headquarters in downtown Greenville, located at 153 Augusta St.

Concert takes place March 1 at 11:00 AM and features GSO Percussionist Daniel Kirkpatrick
