Catherine Labbé and Nancy Jaramillo are thrilled to announce their evolving art exhibit, Midsummer at Woodbine: An Ever Changing Exhibit of Garden Flowers & Forest Plants. This dynamic art experience will take visitors on a journey through the transition from Midsummer to Autumn, capturing the essence of nature's transformation through an exquisite blend of collage, drawing, painting, and printmaking.
The artist's reception is scheduled for Friday, September 8th, 2023, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the world of art while enjoying refreshments and mingling with fellow art enthusiasts. The exhibit will grace the walls of Woodbine Studio & Gallery, located at 1112 Rutherford Road, Greenville, SC 29609 from September 9th through October 27th, 2023.
Inspired by the seamless shift from Midsummer to Autumn, Catherine Labbé and Nancy Jaramillo have ingeniously woven the changing seasons into their exhibition. Just as the natural world undergoes metamorphosis, the artists will gradually introduce new artworks, creating a dynamic display that evolves with the passing weeks. This artistic metamorphosis will culminate in a transformed exhibit by the closing date, presenting visitors with a unique encounter each week.
Catherine Labbé and Nancy Jaramillo, both native South Carolinians, have shared mutual admiration for each other's work since the late 1980s. The two artists found common ground during the pandemic as they explored each other's studios, discovering a shared appreciation for Mary Delaney's pioneering collage techniques and botanical artistry. Their collaboration led to a joint venture supported by a grant from the Metropolitan Arts Council, marked by a series of exhibitions titled "Reset" in 2022. Now, in 2023, their creative forces unite again in the forthcoming exhibition "Midsummer at Woodbine."
