Art & Light Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Liquid Scapes, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Eva Magill Oliver, launching on the Art & Light Gallery website at www.artandlightgallery.com/exhibitions and in the gallery at 10am (EST) on Tuesday, July 11 with an artist reception on Friday, July 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Eva Magill-Oliver is a multi-media artist currently living and working in Greenville, SC. The natural world is an ever-present theme in her work - inspiring her palette, the way she uses pattern as a compositional framework, and the consistent working and reworking of line and shape. The work evolves in movement similar to the flow of water or the repetition of the patterning found in natural forms. The new body of work included in Liquid Scapes will include oil and acrylic paintings on canvas and paper.
Eva shares, “This body of work explores the movement, continuation and simplicity of line. I am attempting to balance the beauty of line with silhouetted shapes and textures extracted from nature. Utilizing the design elements of pattern, line, and color I aim to recreate the essence of the landscape, both in visual form and as a means for private reflection and meditation. Rethinking and reforming the design while still trying to elevate the strength, importance and generous beauty of the line.”
