In Motion features the artworks of Carrie Creech and Gerri Green, whose practices explore movement and memory in painting and ceramics. Carrie Creech presents a series of ceramic vessels that capture fleeting gestures and fluidity within clay. Creech’s forms explore the dichotomy of space and surface, punctuated by curves and seams that embody a sense of captured motion. Gerri Green’s paintings celebrate the tranquility and ever-changing landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Green’s work captures the subtle motion of wind through trees, water, and clouds, offering glimpses of the natural beauty within national and state parks. Together, Creech & Green evoke the dynamics of nature and form.
