The exhibition deadline for this year's GAP members Exhibition, "Mountains and Valleys," at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts, in a beautiful historical building, and very close to this years GAP conference at the Montreat Conference Center, has been extended. The new deadline is Saturday, June 7, 2025. (Note: there is also an extended "late entry" deadline, in case you find yourself really in a crunch!) Info on applying through EntryThingy (and a link) is below. Thank you to those who have already entered the show.
Recognizing that a lot of artists submit very close to the deadline, we wanted to make certain you have received our information regarding this Exhibition and have a chance to apply.
We hope you're planning and able to participate this year. The artist reception will take place during the GAP Conference. Here is the original announcement with fuller description and attached the prospectus for the show:
GAP is excited to announce our 2025 member exhibition, "Mountains and Valleys," juried by Marie-Helene Grabman."Mountains and Valleys" invites cut paper artworks that celebrates the dramatic landscapes of the Appalachian region and other striking elevations and depressions. We also welcome submissions that explore the culture of Appalachia or your favorite mountainous region, including themes such as folk tales, music, and historical figures. Additionally, we encourage 3D-paper artists to use valley and mountain folds as inspiration for paper engineering. The theme is VERY broad and there is no age restriction to when the art was created.
