The developers of a new Southernside project are seeking two artists: a large-scale muralist and a sculptor, both from the Southernside neighborhood of Greenville, or with strong connections to that area. The art project is for "PKL Park at Mark V", a new business on 78 Mayberry St., Greenville, SC.
The mural will cover three single-story buildings, telling the story of the Southernside neighborhood, with a focus on musicians from the area and the Mark V Studio.
The sculpture will be placed in front of the Mark V building, a historical structure that was the first commercial recording studio in the Upstate. The piece will honor the musical heritage associated with the studio.
