The Simpsonville Arts Center is the hub for a vibrant performing and visual arts scene and a great venue for art education and exploration – all under one roof.
The Arts Center is seeking proposals from artists to feature in the Lobby Art Gallery from the last quarter of 2023 through the end of 2024. The Simpsonville Arts Center does not charge a fee to exhibit nor take a commission on sales of artwork. Exhibits rotate every 6 to 8 weeks.
In its first year, the Simpsonville Arts Center has featured the work of Ed Cascone, six artists from Upcountry Fiber Artists, Karen Bressi of Generous Earth Pottery and Simpsonville artist Anne Moore of No. 3 Pottery. In February the Arts Center is featuring the three painters Gayle Miller, MJ King and Lee Ann Zirbes. Rounding out the season, the Arts Center is exhibiting the work of Tom Zumbach and Mary Verrandeaux, followed by an exhibit of tactile art by Neil Medlin, Alan Folger and Bob Ripley.
The Lobby Gallery features a click-and-rail hanging system, free wall space for picture hooks and a few art pedestals. All artists are responsible for hanging their own work.
