Appetite For Beauty
Terri Dilling
Art & Light | Anchorage Exhibition Series
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA – Dilling's art makes reference to nature around her but also an emotional territory within; “to highlight elements of surprise and contrast, so that viewing a painting is an experience of discovery.” We are excited to partner with our favorite neighborhood eatery in West Greenville to swap out their walls with fresh artwork every few months. The Anchorage serves up inventive and seasonal food and we believe that the culinary arts and fine art go hand in hand. Join us as we welcome gallery roster artists and guest artists alike to celebrate the correlation between fine art and fine food. Appetite for Beauty is a new exhibition on view at the Anchorage. Atlanta-based artist Terri Dilling explores inner and outer landscapes through her abstract paintings, and they are a celebration of the senses. The show can be seen online and in person at the restaurant. Terri Dilling's art makes reference to nature around her but also an emotional territory within. The duality of interior/exterior realms gives the work a depth of meaning. She uses gestural marks, printmaking techniques, and layered colors to express a mood or memory. Dilling is influenced by the energy of Abstract Expressionism and the softness of Impressionism, and she combines them in her own unique way. “My desire is to create a calming visual space” says Dilling, “but I also want elements of surprise and contrast, so that viewing a painting is an experience of discovery.” Atlanta, GA mixed media painter Terri Dilling has produced a new body of work to be featured at The Anchorage Restaurant. Her work explores the duality of interior/exterior realms and how they give the work a depth of meaning. This new collection will be released through Art & Light Gallery on Tuesday, July 18th online and in the gallery beginning at 10am EST and will conclude Saturday October 7th. The exhibit can be viewed and purchases made at www.artandlightgallery.com/exhibitions. The exhibit is also on view during regular dining hours at The Anchorage. Art & Light will host an artist meet and greet on Thursday, September 7th from 4:30-6pm EST to celebrate this new collection. The artist Q&A will begin at 5:15pm. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the exhibition page on our website (listed above) which include a signature cocktail inspired by the artist’s body of work, along with appetizers. Reservations are available for dinner after the event by contacting The Anchorage. The event will be held live on Art & Light’s Instagram account @artandlightgallery starting at 5:15pm EST.
